its kinda weird that i assumed that the triangle was the mom. i guess that stemmed from assuming the squares were dudes.

This reminds me of a designerdoug kinda concept where it almost makes sense until you think about it for more than your initial reaction and realize it's not connecting to where it needs to be. Good try, keep subbing!

At first I thought the 2 squares were the parents, and the kid square brought home the triangle. Which I think leads it to being more of a race/nationality thing instead of sexual preference.

And then I saw the the triangle looked like it was crying, so I assumed it was the mother figure.

The shapes need clothes to give them gendered identities and character, not to mention add a bit of interest to the design. Or something.
