Very pretty, but for me it makes me think of a Japanese girl tending gosts, which just seemed strange because I've never heard of goat-herding in Japan. It may or may not have anything to do with that, but it was just my first impression. So to me it just felt odd. But it's a nice design.

She's gorgeous! and I like the patterns on the floor around her feet
(which sort of work with the circles on her dress) Is there some kind of literary reference for the title? I tried looking it up on Google, but didn't find anything concrete. ISABOA's comment on her nose is perfect. It is so adorable. my nitpick is that the background seems to be fighting with the subject for attention. The background is full of diagonals, it has parts that are swirling, floating, or winding upward while the woman is calm and stable (except her hair). overall definitely something to be proud of |

I tried working with fewer tonal values but felt too limited...it's more refinement issue of my own skills I suppose. helo no, as far as I know there is no literary ref to be found for this...it's just from my head. I agree that the background might be a bit competitive, that's why I wanted to keep it down to one color because I knew I'd probably make it a bit busy...but I just can't quit adding sometimes! lol! Again, thanks to each and every comment! |

If the world is good, then why does she seem sad?
The ground texture seems a little flat. Maybe using a broken line or something to give it some depth? Love the illustration after that! |
