This isn't exactly a brain buster...and the nautical flags key won't be on the shirt...I figured the MERRILY (4x) gave a pretty good hint.

I love the nautical flags but I don't really love the battle ship at the bottom. Maybe lose the text as well.

Maybe I'l just shut up and try and make my own flag shirt. x

maybe if the style of the boat on the bottom was more like the flags. They just look like 2 different shirts to me. Or, put a row boat on the bottom.

But I agree that the boat is unnecessary, unless you want to do it in a simpler style.

So the reason I went with the battle ship is the contrast b/t the idea of a war ship and the idea of the nursery rhyme.

i think the concept is good, contracting nursery rhyme with the battle ship, i just think incorporating the flags gets confusing, adding another thing to figure out....

The idea behind the design is that the contrast between the battleship and the nursery rhyme is emphasized by the rhyme being translated into Nautical Flags code.... if you take out the flags, the design seems much to simple, just a boat and a nursery rhyme. Change or take out the boat, then it just seems like a nursery rhyme being turned into flag code, and it will lose most of what makes it capture your attention... anyway, if this gets printed, I'm most definitely going to buy it.

I like it with the ship, and i think the key would look good on the back of the shirt. Its fun to have, i think, plus its good for people who don't get it.
Maybe change to font of merrily mer... to match the ship.

thanks wiimoat, you pretty much just explained my thought process while designing this and deciding on which final design to go with (w/ boat/ w/o boat, oars/no oars, flag key, row boat...you get the drift --yeah puns).

Looks great with the boat, not so much without it.
