oh, i just realized you wrote about that bigfoot thing in the description. i don't know whether to feel smart or dumb.
The proper way to hold a boom box is not like a purse, you ninny! Put that shit up on his shoulder, like a REAl Yeticorn man.
nice dig the halftone, did you draw out the "break" yourself and the wall or take it from somewhere?
A big plastic plate across the chest isn't attractive. It is unflattering to the boobs, making them look misshapened.
If it's not even your photo, are you angling for another Tagged saga? ;) |
You are overly defensive about a simple question. You could have simply said "yes, i am ok with taking someone else's artwork". It's cool, man!
I'm not trying to bring you down, I'm trying to help you improve, actually. I dig your work.
My avatar is by Japanese artist Takehito Harada. A friend of mine was reviewing Harada's portfolio for character design for an animated show and saw this image and thought it not only looked like me but captured my cute yet evil nature, as well as love of picnicking outdoors. Using it as my avatar certainly violates international copyright in the strictest sense, but I could probably claim "fair use" since I'm not making any money off of it. The Ana Caona image may be in the public domain if it's from the fifties. The grafitti in my town is lame. |
"As a general rule, for works created after Jan. 1, 1978, copyright protection lasts for the life of the author plus an additional 70 years."
Maybe this tag was made in '77? |
or they simply accepted it from the artist they commissioned it from. which is really what i think they did.
Regardless of ink type, Threadless doesn't do discharge printing on non Select shirts, so maija is correct. Large print areas mean no stretch over the boobies.
who gives a f**k about the graffiti its agreat tee. The graffiti artist is probably in there 50s anyway this piece of graf is sooo old and not that good - which is why it works so f ing well. $5

if you're whole bit is aboutkeeping me honest...well i am, so i have emailed the photographer, and more importantly, the man behind BREAK.
so please. ease up! please? |
Oh, well if the person who painted Break gave you permission then rad for you! Make sure you print out his Ok, though, in case this does go to print. So you & Threadless have your butts covered.

I had theurbanraptor in mind when I made the "professional work-for-hire" remark, but everyone always has more to learn. None of us know it all.
What's your regular alias? |
I think it's funny that people worried about the rights of the graffiti artist... who painted on a public wall with no permission!
what? i didn't say anything about a commission...the image is of some radom wall with break on it...not sure what you're gettin' at. hmmm.

I'D SAY LESS CONVERSATION ABOUT GRAFFITTI COPYRIGHT ... MORE TALK ABOUT MORE HANKERCHIEFS TIED ON THE RIGHT LEG--WWAAAAAY KOOOOOO-oooo-ooo-oo-hhhllll. That horn on his head is way TIGHT!

r.o.b.o.t.i.c.octopus,
let us know what BREAK says concerning your use of his work so we can vote accordingly |
you can vote $5 whether he approves or not...that doesn't mean threadless will print this...because they won't...pretty sure of it.
i intend to post what he says anyway, if he says anything at all. |
dude that's so sweet!!!!! Glad that all worked out. you should totally do a collaboration with him:)
see now i helped you make a new friend - so a 1$ is fine by you? not that i'm giving you a 1 just wondering
I say you redraw the "break" thing yourself, make it rough sketchy + quick and make it tonal (one color darker than the tee, no white/pop background) on the shirt. Case closed.
thing is, i didn't NEED permission, even Break told me this on the phone, he just appreciated that i emailed him.
that's the most well-written, positive, and nice comment i've ever read, mephitine. cheers to you!
ps. i still say print this. |
why dont u take the graffiti out and re - do it urself and change the word to something more 80's. it will stop all the squabblin'

Yeticorn says:
To use my image and or likeness is a rights management issue...so I will be killing you with my dance skillz and horn spinning, IF I actually exist. Nice design, fun stuff. |
