Phone Faceoff

So I'm buying a new phone sometime tomorrow, but I'm not sure whether to go with the Samsung A717 or the iPhone.

I know what you're thinking, "you idiot, buy the iPhone", but it's not so cut and dry... at least when it comes to my current monthly fee

I can either but the Samsung and keep my current plan that cost me about $50 (this includes unlimited text messaging, 3G tech, etc.) or fork over the dough for an iPhone which will cost me about $70 a month with unlimited internet/e-mail, 200 text messages, and no MMS. As cool as the iPhone is, it really doesn't look to be any better feature-wise besides overall design.

So what do you think?

Depends what you want your phone for..

Personally I find using the internet on my mobile a bit pointless as I find it hard to navigate and it's not like I desperately need to access it whenI'm out and about and I love sending picture messages, so for me the Samsung would be preferable.

If you're the type of person who doesn't send mms's, who would love to have constant internet access, and has a phone more for street cred or whatever instead of practicality, then it sounds like the iPhone is for you.

But I don't get much about phones. My personal motto is, if it makes calls and sends mesages it's ace :P

That being said I have a Motorola k3.

I kept killing my old phones accidently (seriously not on purpose) and so my parents decided instead of forking out cash for crappy prepaid phones that I kill they would get me a good phone on a plan and have the phone compnay fork out money if I kill it.

I have yet to kill it :P

I just switched to a samsung, the sgh-u100. it's a hell of a sweet phone with a apple-esque interface. been gathering envious looks with it all day...
