New Design- The English Temperament!

Wow, people with their heads replaced by other things?! What a novel idea, I simply must give it a go!

We are apparently genetically obsessed with the weather. It is also generally raining. Thus it is a completely logical step for them to have umbrella heads...

Not quite sure how it'll work on a tee yet though- not sure I'm digging them in a strip like that. I'd quite like it to go all the way across the front, in which case I'll have to draw (by my calculation) eleven more of them, because repeats make me sad (except repeats on telly, I like those). Also, not sure if it should be block colour or gradient.

The English are terrible at small talk, hence the preoccupation with the weather. It's the only obvious topic that everyone can share a comment on.

I love your sketchy style - there's a certain stiffness to your characters that goes well with the sort of old-fashioned air they have about them (or are they just being British? I don't know these things). Anyway, I like this idea so far - it would be interesting to see what happens with color, though I'm digging the one color look so far, especially if there's going to be so many of them. Maybe some accents here or there? Or just color on the umbrellas, since that seems to be where the personality is?

Oh, and it's rainy here, has been for days and will be for days to come, apparently. And I think it'll be a hot summer.

clyde- not sure what I'll do with colour. I might well keep it as a 1 ink, or do an all over gradient if it's going to be a large print, but I'll see. I was going with blue for a rainy look, but I'll play around.
Tont- nope, it's Gigguli. But I thought it was a perfect shot for this shirt

Sixteen quid? Rip. I've never paid for one; I used to work in Blackwell's, so got to keep any of the nice brollies that people left behind while browsing books. I then had a tendency to leave them around myself, thus perpetuating the natural cycle of lost property

Eric- I was thinking just a big print all across the front, rather than an all over belt print, but I'll see what it looks like when I'm done
