Republic rips off Threadless again!

about Stone Jungle

So this brand called Republic, which they sell in Myer stores in Australia and is already guilty of ripping off MP(3) has gone and ripped off Stone Jungle.

It's printed on red. It's not a direct copy, the city skyline is of a completely different city and bizzarely there are hot air balloons instead of planes. The Republic image would've been created from scratch rather than from a livetrace or something, but the concept is completely stolen.

There's no website on the label that I could see and it's very hard to find a website for the company through google because so many brands or political t-shirts include the word "republic" so I'm just going to post this and we can all shake our fists and curse at no one and probably accomplish nothing in here.

But I'll get a better look at it tomorrow, maybe post some pics and look into finding some contact details.

I wonder if they're selling the same lines nationally, someone needs to check the Melbourne stores, etc. Really threadless themselves should chase this up as they should be protecting these designs from plagiarism after they are bought from the artist.

I'm pretty sure they'd have the same stuff nationally. The girl who posted the MP(3) rip-off saw it in Queensland and I saw it in Sydney. I don't know how to get any contact details for the company, the best I can think to do is fill in a Customer Feedback form just to let the Myer people know and hope they can deal with it. I'm sure they wouldn't intentionally sell something ripped off and quite possibly Republic have no idea either and it's all the work of some lazy designer who can't come up with his own stuff.
